Introduction and Appointment Scheduling
A visit to the ENT outpatient clinic at Asklepios Klinik St. Georg is only possible by prior appointment. Please allow sufficient lead time so that we can ensure individual and thorough counseling.
Note on Cost Coverage:
- For partial services covered by health insurance (e.g., nasal septum correction), we require a referral from your general practitioner or specialist.
- Aesthetic components are private services and are not covered by health insurance.
Steps to Surgery
1. Initial Consultation in the ENT Outpatient Clinic
- Detailed Examination (Functional and Aesthetic)
- Initial Discussion of Your Wishes and Possibilities
- Creation of an Initial Quick Simulation (Optional)
- Handing Over of Information Material
2. Second Consultation Before Surgery
- Precise Discussion of Planned Corrections
- Binding Surgery Planning
- Conducting All Mandatory Surgical Explanations
On the Day of Surgery
- Please arrive at the clinic fasting (exact information will be provided in advance)
- Duration of Surgery:
- Primary Rhinoplasty: approx. 1.5–2.5 hours
- Revision Rhinoplasty: significantly longer, depending on complexity
- Anesthesia: General Anesthesia
- Inpatient Stay: usually 2 days
After the Surgery
- Removal of the external nasal splint and possibly splints after about 7–10 days
- First follow-up appointment takes place upon discharge from the clinic
- Further follow-up appointments with Dr. Graefe will be scheduled directly
- Additional check-ups can also take place with an outpatient ENT doctor, depending on accessibility
Healing Time and Final Result
- Visible swelling significantly subsides after 2–3 weeks.
- Residual swelling, especially in the area of the nose tip, can be visible for several weeks to months.
- The final result is usually fully assessable after 6–12 months, and in revisions even after 12–18 months.
